More than 33,000 elementary, middle and high school students participated in Student Vote New Brunswick, coinciding with the 2024 provincial election.
After learning about government and democracy, researching the parties and candidates, and discussing the future of the province, students cast ballots in a parallel election.
As of 5:00 pm on Monday, October 21, 33,194 total votes were reported from 200 schools, with results from all 49 electoral districts. This includes 31,993 valid votes and 1,201 rejected ballots.
- The Liberal Party of New Brunswick took 37.9% of the popular vote and won 28 seats, forming a majority government. Susan Holt won her seat in Fredericton South-Silverwood.
- The Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick will form the official opposition with 13 seats and 31.0% of the popular vote. Blaine Higgs won his Quispamsis seat.
- The New Brunswick Green Party received 21.9% of the popular vote and won 8 seats. David Coon won his seat in Fredericton Lincoln.
